  1. During the CNY hols, my family and I went to Bali. We spent 5 days and 4 nights there. The idea was to spend time as a family as through out the year we are all busy with our work.

However, some relatives feel that we are forgoing the Chinese tradition of visiting relatives and friends. Personally, i feel that more Malaysians are becoming more individualistic and prefers their own privacy.
As for me, I see that young children go visiting on the pretext of collecting Ang pows while young adults go visiting to taste the food as well as seeing people's house decorations. I remember of past experiences whereby my Form 6 students bring their friends from other schools to visit me during CNY. We were being introduced. However, when I met these "friends" again on another occasion, they act as if they don't know me.
So from that moment, I decided I do not want to go through the hassle of having open house.
